Use Copilot effectively and efficiently to help increase your productivity at work.

Copilot Mode *New*

When entering the Microsoft Edge browser, you can now be prompted to turn on Copilot Mode. Copilot mode is a new experimental mode in Microsoft Edge, delivering an entirely new way to pilot the web with innovative AI features. It should be noted that while you can do all the actions below without Copilot Mode toggled off, it does make it quicker and easier to access them with it turned on. Copilot Mode makes searching for information easier with direct access to Copilot. You can also use it hands-free. Simply click the microphone and give your instructions for what you need. With Copilot Mode turned on, it can see all open tabs and summarize or compare information across them, saving time when researching or comparing options. It will also keep track of trends in spending or upcoming deals on items.

Task Continutiy

Copilot remembers your browsing path so you can resume research or tasks later. It keeps track of the pages you’ve explored, the questions you’ve asked, and the context you were building. That continuity makes it easy to pick up right where you left off without retracing your steps. It feels less like starting over and more like having a running thread of your work always ready to continue.

AI Actions

The AI can take on tasks you’d rather skip, such as booking reservations, managing errands, or summarizing research, with optional access to your browser history and credentials. It handles the repetitive steps in the background so you can stay focused on the work that actually matters. By remembering your preferences and past actions, it streamlines each task the next time around. Over time, it starts to feel less like a tool and more like a quiet assistant smoothing out the friction in your day.

How to try it

  1. Go to Settings → Sidebar

  2. Ensure Copilot is toggled On

  3. If needed, click Customize sidebar and re‑enable the Copilot icon
