Adobe Acrobat Updates

What's New?

Adobe Acrobat has gone through some changes recently. Namely, with the addition of AI-related services embedded, but also the overall interface getting a facelift. Let's look at some new features you can now use on Adobe Acrobat!

AI Assistant

AI Assistant allows you to interact with documents using a chat-like interface. You can ask questions, summarize content, and perform tool-based actions. Simply, select the AI Assistant tool in the top bar and type your question. It will search the document for a name or a date, for example, or summarize a section to you. It will also answer Adobe-related questions, like how to convert the document or change its formatting.

AI-Powered Highlights

Find your most important content instantly with AI-powered highlights. Acrobat learns from your reading behavior and automatically highlights key information to help you review faster and extract insights more efficiently. It also includes clickable citations. There are numbered citations within their AI-generated responses. Clicking these numbers instantly highlights the exact source content in the original PDF, allowing for easy verification and tracing of information.

Natural Text to Speech

The text-to-speech reader now features a more natural voice and an adjustable voice option. You can also adjust the pace at which the voice reads the text.

To Use the Read Aloud Function:

  1. Open Reader and navigate to the document page you want to have read aloud.

  2. From the top-left menu, click View, then Read Out Loud.

  3. Select either Read to End of Document or Read This Page Only.

  4. The reading will start at the page you’re currently on, even if you select Read to End of Document. To start at the beginning, navigate to the first page.
